Default Can HDMI to DVI Cable transmit Audio signal also from PC to Monitor?

Hello,

I have Dell SP2208WFP Monitor with VGA, DVI & HDMI input.
My PC has XFX HD 6870 which has DVI , HDMI & Mini Display Ports.

I have already Connected Airtel DTH HD Set-top box to monitor via HDMI.
As monitor has Audio out i have connected one of my 2.0 Speaker to it for DTH.

Currently PC is connected via DVI. And PC Audio out connected to another 2.1 Speaker.

My Problem is i don't want to use two separate speakers.

As my graphics card is capable of transmitting Audio via HDMI, but HDMI is already used by DTH, So if i buy HDMI to DVI (HDMI from PC and DVI to Monitor) cable and connect it, will my monitor get audio signal from PC along with video signal?

Even if graphics card transmit audio signal over DVI through HDMI, is it possible for monitor to decode audio signal from DVI???

Can Anyone suggest solution?

Thanks

HI

There is No Difference e between HDMI and DVi connector In terms Of Picture qty.
but Then why People uses HDmi and why that Hype?

Because HDmi port is small and Not just That it is capable to Transmit Vdo and Ado as well.
As Addition Ado was Added Later but it is Full multimedia capable.
That Is why It is Mostly Supported.

But
for ur issue i can suggest it will be done by HDMI switching device(like usb Hub)
But it difficult to find. in Mumbai u can get it in lamington rd or In delhi in palika market

Or google it
check Theitdepot.com, lynxindia.com etc.

And i Have 23'' Inch Monitor W/o HDMI.

Dude VGA stand for : Video Graphics Array

DVI : Digital Visual Interface

HDMI : High Defination Multimedia Interface [Multimedia = Audio + Video]

So i hope the meaning of the these clearly tells you the purpose.
