Smile System Boot Error


hi techies.........

guys, i'm facing a problem with my system durin booting.sometimes it jst stays blank with a horizontal cursor on top left corner of screen after showing up the boot page.it continues lik that for sveral minutes n then it shows hard disk read error.i checked ma sata connection to d board, and that was OK...i can't really make out where n what s d problem.........

my sys config:-dual core processor,intel GC945 Mboard, 2gb DDR2 RAM, 160Gb seagate HDD, ASUS 5670 HD 1gb graphic card.

HDD contains bad sectors.

chkdsk hdd on another system and/or buy another hdd

"PXE ROM error"
"no bootable device"
"insert boot disk and try again"
does this have any connection with HDD error?

^^ either HDD connection is loose or HDD's life is almost over.

suggestion: backup your important data using a 2nd HDD as boot hard drive/linux live cd (ubuntu is a good option).

i think the OS of urs has gone corrupt affecting the boot files try repairing the boot file or format ur c drive to a fresh copy of OS !!
