Buying a Laptop battery

Hi,

I have ordered a toshiba laptop from US..heres the model details

Toshiba Satellite® L655-S5107 15.6" widescreen Laptop

I will arrive in next year Jan. Since this is my 1st laptop, I dont have much knowledge about their batteries.

Are they model specific? or based on dimensions?
When the battery will eventually die down after 2-3yrs, will I find a replacement in India? if yes then can it be bought from nehru place..or am i going to be at mercy of toshiba.

So should I order an additional battery from toshiba US store right now?

I think you should order an additional battery from toshiba US store. It may be possible that you will not get it from here.
