Default Help: Dead pen drive : Any solution?

Hi,

My pendrive (transcend) 4gb is completely dead after using it in some infected pc in my college lab. Now even the lights dont glow up when plugged into usb. And no action on the system. Is there any hope left to retrieve data or make it work again?

Thanks,

Enjoy~!

Regarding data no Guarantee but for Thumb Drive try to check in Disk Management. If it is seen in there. try to format from there..

then the pen drive is kaput buddy, if u still have warranty period then take it to RMA and return it back, or else u can keep it

if the light glows and and pen drive hasnt been detected then use transcend online tool it will format everything and ur pen drive will work this time

Your pen drive is surely damaged. Take it for a replacement. No chances of data recovery. Never keep any data's sole copy on a pen drive, it is not at all a reliable media. And that too transcend, they produce some of the worst pen drives.

if it is not detected under windows, then try it under linux, if it is detected then just format it, else get a new one as new year gift

@speedyguy: if light r not glowing dat means it is physically damaged....
if its still under warranty then u can take it to the service center....
& data can only be recovered if pendrive is detected on pc....
