Default Will ther be any lag in gaming performance on a WD caviar green drive ?

I've an idea to get a 500GB WD drive.

Can some one tell me what is the exact rotational speed of the platters ?

Will Lower speeds affect gaming or any other performance ?

Avoid green edition for the time being as they have failure rates- as do mine. I insisted on atleast blue edition so they replaced mine with blue.

Besides, IIRC the price difference between green and black is somewhat negligible. Confirm the price for blue (I don't think its on stock but I don't about now) and black, make the decisions accordingly. Rather than green, I would recommend 7200.12 rpm drives.

But generally, I doubted. I am using an older version of the green drives as a primary OS and it doesn't show any lag.

@everyone :

but based on the usage, the 'intelli power' technology delivers any rotational speed between 5400rpm and 7200 rpm rite ?

Say if at some situation , the speed is 6000rpm, the performance diff btwn a 7200 rpm drive and this green drive should be negligence.

Isn't it just like 'Turbo boost' ..?
