Hi guys,

I was thinking about buying an ssd around 64-80 GB.. Will i get drastic improvement in performance if i invest in SSD? How reliable it is? and how expensive is it india now? Also which all are the leading brands available in India?

Please share ur thought about SSD

As far as price is concerned, you can get a 60 GB or 64 GB one for around 10k.
Leading brands are corsair and Intel, i'm not too sure about the availability though. and of course there are some other brands available too.
make sure you check online reviews of the SSD before going to buy it. there are some SSDs which are cheap and do not give too much performance boost. to make the most of your SSD install your OS and all games and large softwares like Pohtoshop etc on it. keep your swap files on this disk.
Do not use it to store music and videos as that would be a waste.

What does an SSD do to boost the performance? How is it so different from a general SATA HDD?
