Re: ati radeon 5450
@ OP - Maybe you are playing at low resolution i.e 1024×7__(oops I forgot ) with low or medium settings.Even beasts like 470,5870 find it hard to run CoD BO at full HD resolution i.e. 1920×1080 with all the eye-candies turned on so 5450 would probably choke off at that resolution.Thats why you are being advised to go for a better card.
BTW even I would like to ask the same question as amartya, whats the screen size of your monitor & at what resolution do you play?

Re: ati radeon 5450
I think he is running in 1024*768 resolution.
In higher resolution i.e.1920*1080 you can get High Definition gaming and good clarity picture. In HD resolution you have to get a minimum 10k graphics if you want to play smoothly without lag...Infact 9500 Gt also can handle 1024*768 resolution gaming with ease....

Re: ati radeon 5450
Depends upon what resolution and what settings you are playing at.
And do you have a 18.5" square monitor? Higher resolution means more pixels, and more pixels means you'll need a powerful graphic card to play.
HD 5670 is upto thrice as fast as HD 5450.
HD 5670 512MB GDDR5 costs 4.8k.
Edit: Avoid posting the same thing in two different sections.

No wonder!!Try to play at 1600×900.Then you'll notice how 5450 would be crying out loud begging you to stop the game!!And forget about full HD!
If you do wanna go for a new GPU then look for nothing less than 5670(I would say 5770 is the least one should be looking at).

Re: ati radeon 5450
if I'm not wrong a most of the 18.5 inch LCDs don't supports resolution higher than 1366*768.
OP should really try playing crysis/Metro 2033 or COD MW2 with all the visual/graphic settings cranked up and at max level of AA and AF. Then he will know the difference for sure.

Re: ati radeon 5450
if has a budget of 10k then I think he should get a decent PSU and a HD5750/GTS450 coz games fo the future will consume much more resource and if you have the budget why get HD5670 - HD5750/GTS450 is faster than that anytime and is more future proof for upcoming games.

Re: ati radeon 5450
I have Sapphire HD 5670 512MB, i tested Far Cry 2 at Ultra High settings with 8x AA. It runs fine also Burnout Paradise runs pretty smoothly, with high settings.
I have 18.5 inch LCD monitor with a resolution of 1360 x 768. I guess HD5670 is the best card if you play games in this resolution.

I think if he is gonna go for 5750 then he might as well get 5770 'cause the difference is around .8k-1k.

Burnout Paradise runs fine @ HD resolution + everything set to high without AA enabled. enable AA or upp it to 2X, the game starts running a bit slow.

Re: ati radeon 5450
if op is satisfied with the resolution and detail he is playing at, why advise him to upgrade.
@op if you want your games to look better then you should upgrade. if you are satisfied with the way they look now, why bother!
