Pen Drive Problem

Friends, i got a strange problem. recently my collegue bought a 16 GB Kingston Pen Drive (Data traveler - 101) from a local boy. but the pen drive shows a strange problem... we can send data to pen drive but after safe remove when it is inserted to the computer again it shows blank. that is there is no file or folder...though the properties shows that there is something which acquires some space. please help us.

Scan your computer for viruses . Or open the pen drive with command prompt and type attrib from the root directory. If there is any file it will show up.

i tried with command prompt as per ur suggession..but nothing shows...also my system is secured with Macafee antivirus. i already scanned for threat..but still the same problem.

Check the pen drive on another system. If you still get the same problem then the pendrive is faulty.

^ there lies ur problem.

ur pendrive is NOT Kingston, only the cover is.

the chip is chinese and no good at storing ANYTHING. it is progrmmed to show only memory and store nothing.

please DO NOT BUY such pendrives.

i had similar experience with 8GB pd 4 yrs ago.(Connaught Place - new delhi)

can u tell me where u bought the pd ??? (the city). i want to know how far has it spread from delhi??

If you kept the package, there is a simple way to verify it:
Kingston Technology Company - Flash Verification - Flash Memory Products
or just bring it to Kingston official shops.
You can find out the problem soon.
