Blue screen of death !!!

I often get the blue screen of death in my old aged Pc.Is it because i added up with an additional 512 mb ram?

My config:
Intel Pentium 4
845GVML Mobo
40Gb IDE HDD
Realtech Ethernet Card

Nothing else is connected to my mobo..?
I asks me for Bios Update.But i don't know where the hell i'll get the update for this crappy mobo..

Note the error code and type it in google. It will let you know what is causing the problem. Additionally update your drivers.

about Overclocking ?? I have googled it...
Overclocking is the process of running a computer component at a higher clock rate (more clock cycles per second) than it was designed for or was specified by the manufacturer,

1.can it be done on intel processor (Pentium 4)
2.Is there any disadvantage of overclocking ??

When did i say overclocking? I would advice you to not overclock your cpu. Overclocking requires a good power supply and a good third party cpu cooler.

The prob is the file transfer rate is very slow..Is there any way to increase it...Or this edition has it's con in this...
