Unhappy Change of Plan ...

Hi guys ...

I was planning to buy this rig :

i7 950
msi x58 pro-e
corsair 1gbx3 ddr3 kit
nvidia gtx 460(1 gb)
corsair hx850 (for SLI later on) ...
CM 430 elite

But due to sme reason I had to cut down my budget ...

I cant afford an i7 now

I am unable to decide between AMD Phenom II X6 1055t and an i5 ....
Plz help me ...

I don`t want to lose on gaming power ...
I heard 1156 socket doesn`t do well in SLI ...

I will add an graphics card in nxt 2 years ...
I`ll upgrade my mobo and proccy also then ...

Till then I want a rig to sustain my gaming requirements ....

Plz suggest a rig as soon as possible ...
Thanx !!!

^^ well, AMD 6 cores are real VFM but lost badly in gaming. so if you have a good budget & gaming is top priority, go for i5 760. your best bet. yes, AMD Phenom II X4 are good alternates but consider these only if you can't afford i5 7*0.

also you don't need a 850W PSU for SLI two GTX460. a 650W from Corsair will handle them without any stability issue. on same sense i'll suggest invest in a HD6850 now & Xfire them later. pick what you like here: GTX460 or HD6850.

also i5 (P55) doesn't do well in SLI if you install two GTX470 or above or HD5870 or above. then the setup maybe struggle a bit but 2*GTX460 not performing well in SLI on a i5 setup isn't true.

but as you said you'll add a 2nd card after 2yrs, go for a highend card now & change it to a different card when the time comes. BTW you missed to mention an important part, BUDGET.
