Default Unable to access BSNL modem interface

When I type 192.168.1.1 in any browser, the modem interface doesn't open, it simply says unable to open or whatever depending on the browser. I tried the same modem on another PC and it works. What could be the problem?
I used ethernet port to connect at both places. The modem is working fine as far as internet connection goes.

Try a different browser.
Clear cookies
Try making a new user account and then try.
See if automatically detect proxy option is enabled.

Did you try changing the lan card driver? Or a different lan card.
Did you run the network setup wizard for small home office network to set your default network connection for internet as lan.

You re-installed your OS too!!!!!!!!!
Have you tried resetting the modem because I think it is issue from modem side only. Secondly a different LAN cable could also do the trick.
