Default CD RW has become CD ROM!

I have one CD-RW disk. I am now surprised to notice that various CD burning apps be it Nero or Magic Burner or Imgburn for that matter are treating this disk as CD ROM only. Preventing any write operations. Till now I must have done several rewrites and erase operations on it. Now even erase disk also does not work. It has converted itself into a CD ROM!!
Sometimes the Erase operation totally fails, sometimes it just gets over in 3 - 4 seconds without any error but no actual results. Last written MP3 songs are still there and it plays well though.

Has it's life now ended as RW disk? I must have rewritten on it several times in last 1 year. Just wondering if there’s any way out or better use it as a Tea Coaster!
