Default BSNL Dataone Modem problem

A few days back my modem (Siemens C2110) started misbehaving! the link light would keep blinking. Sometimes after blinking for an hour or 2 it wuold become steady. i complained with BSNL. After no response from them for 5 days (except 2 phone calls asking me if the problem had been resolved) I borrowed a modem from my friend (who has old huawei model). It worked fine. Today when i got a call from BSNL i told them about this. They asked me to bring the modem to the exchange as it was still under warranty, which he said was of 3 years.

When I took the modem there they checked it and confirmed it was faulty. But they said warranty was of 2 years and it had expired.

Now, I have 2 questions:
  1. 1. How much warranty does BSNL give on this modem
  2. 2. Once the link light becomes steady, there is no problem in the connection. So can this be repaired?

Just to confirm, this is my modem:

Go to your modem's settings page http://192.168.1.1/ and find your line's Attenuation, SNR etc. and post here.
