Exclamation A DELL system(only the processing unit) required. Is it possible.

1. What is the purpose of the computer?
A: 3D design and animation(3Ds MAX, AutoCAD). A/V mixing and editing, gaming(mostly in network).

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A: I'm open to other brands but not to assemblies because i don't want to face an unstable system at any point of my work. Besides I want good customer support far my system so I chose DELL.

3. What is your MAX budget?
A:80k is the max(+ 5k). But lower prices won't hurt.

4. Planning to overclock?
A: No chance.

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A: Windows 7 ultimate x64(include in price if possible).

6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A: More the merrier. But speed matters more. I'd prefer one small ssd(64-128gb) and one bigger(500gb - 1tb) hdd.

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want?
A: full hd while working and maybe bigger while rendering(renders can be done on other systems too. My system does not need to do everything). Display output should be better than 1080p(so that it isn't the max.). I have a 26 inch monitor already.

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
A:9

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A: I would not prefer assemblies and if it has to be the only choice i'll go for a well qualified and experienced assembler

10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A: Before 2011.

11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
A: 5 years is good enough for me for a system's upgradeable life(till 2015 or 2016 I should be able to upgrade it to the best of the components of that time).

12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A: Yes. If the gtx 400 series cards are not available then i'll get them later.

13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A: This is no metropolitan. I'd prefer home delivery by parcel or post. The nearest dell outlet is about 20 kms away.

14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: I want a high performance pc doesn't mean good looks will not matter. I'm all out for good looks. A digitizer tab is also supposed to be connected. two Ethernet ports are preferable.

And at last... Why can't so many of you reply as soon as possible so that I can buy everything before it is outdated..

most parts of pc carries 3yrs warranty. some 5/10yrs. with Dell you'll get 1yr warranty & another 1 or 2yr if you pay more. so assemble is best way.

and unstable? in what sense?

5yrs? go for Intel Core i5 or i3 & you'll get max upgradable life of 6months. with AMD, you'll get around 1yr. with Core i7 9** you'll get 1.5yr. so make 5 yrs is totally out of question. even 3yrs is nowhere close. so all i can say is get the fastest system you can build (assembling) that can run apps seamlessly for around 3yrs or 4yrs.

well the system offered by Dell won't get outdated till 2011, when newer processor from both processor firm; AMD & Intel makes their appearance. so stay calm & get a good machine. all the best.
