"reinsert memory stick" error in sony cam..

hi everyone..
I have a sony cybershot DSC-W180 digi cam...
i accidentally deleted some files from it and in order to recover them i immediately removed the memory stick frm the cam. then when i connected the cam to my pc and tried to read from it, the cam says
Reinsert the "Memory Stick"
i tried the stick in my dads sony vaio's memory slot. The card was identified and was given the lettre D:\
but when i try to open the card it says "insert a disk in the drive d:\"
there are important pics in the card and please help me recover the pics and the card.

try format the card & than use recuva to get the deleted pics back. remember till you can't open the card, recuva is useless. you must be able open & only than recuva will/maybe able get the pics back.

tried formatting the card... but nothing happens with the basic windows formatting.. Even the formatting window is not displayed.

check Sony's or whoever is the manufacturer of the card website. they may have some download utility. but i fear cause you removed card while the camera was still on & in use, it may have corrupted the card.
