System restart bcz of adding 1.5 tb HDD

Hello friends,

I have a local cabinet with 550W SMPS + a basic m2n68AMD MOBO + AMd athlon CPU + @ gb ram + 160 GB hDD, When I Added 1.5 TB WD Caviar green internal SATA HDD on first installation it run fine, later on system started restarting frequently when i unplugged 1.5 TB hdd it started working fine where is the main problem SMPS/ or MOBO or HDD it self ? and to install WIn 7 basic AMD CPU is enough or u need quad core cpu ?

Dear Nillu,
You have to check your motherboard is supporting 1.5T oR NOT from the Motherboard SPECIFICATION.

most prob its your SMPS! which brand SMPS you have?

it doesn't depend on the mobo!

check if the sata power is working fine by changing the power cable of the existing HDD without plugging in the WD green. Try changing the SATA cable.
Most probably the motherboard is at fault coz it's an ASUS on which I face a similar problem.

also you can try another sata port on the mobo to plug in the hdd.

Regarding SMPS it is local one which came with the cabinet, 550w

^^ 550W generic PSU? get it changed. or at least get it checked with a friends PSU.
