LCD screen for 6000-6500

Hey guys,a friend of mine needs to buy a lcd screen for 6000-6500(Cannot exceed anymore) as the crt monitor is not working anymore...need help deciding whether a widescreen is better or a flat one...will be used mainly for games & movies...Doesn't necessarily need to have full HD,though if any screen does come within that budget,it would be an added bonus...its urgent because we are planning to buy the screen by tom from lamington road mumbai...So pls help..its urgent...Thanks

ok new addition...my crt has failed as well & i plan to buy an lcd as soon as possible...my budget is about 7000-8000...i am looking for an HD screen since i do watch a lot of movies & play games & i plan to buy a graphic card in the future..i can extend my budget by 500 bucks though..so if an hd monitor can come within the budget,it would be nice..so pls suggest some lcds in the price range..HELP!!!

i am a noob in this but i heard samsung lcd's have less dynamic contrast..@2nd suggestion...if u do not recommend benq,then which one..i can extend it to 8.5 or something..

Take a look at these 20inch ones:

Dell IN2020- It's an LED screen.
Dell S2009w-
Dell St2010-Has an hdmi port
You'll need to find out the exact prices but I believe all are below 7k.

Full Hd monitors(1920*1080 res)
Benq 22inch G2220 hd-7500/- (No hdmi port)
Samsung B2230 -8400/- (No hdmi port)
Dell ST2210-9000/-( It has an hdmi port)

thanks a lot....IN2020 looks good....but aren't dell monitors supposed to be ordered online?Do u get dell monitors in any stores in mumbai?

^^ Dell monitor found locally too. got mine from SMC International. if you get through Dell, chances are you'll end up paying a lot more.

also have a look at Benq E2020HD. looks good. price is within your budget (8-8.5k)

Thanks a lot..i found out that dell ST2210 is available at prime abgb or atleast thats what the website says..was trying to look for reviews of Benq E2020HD..couldn't find anything..just some australian website links..is it there in india??& How is the after sale service of dell & Benq??

also whats the difference between IN2010 & IN2020..Is there any significant difference??

Bought IN2020M today from lamington road..thanks a lot for your help...i also enquired about DELL ST2210..they said its an old model...not available..WTF???

i paid Rs 6900/- for the monitor...
