Default RAM bus speed mismatch?


I have a P-IV processor with two 256MB RAMs(333MHz),one 128MB RAM(333MHz) and one 512MB RAM(266MHz).Will I get proper output?Its showing 1GB+ system memory.

your ram will run at 133Mhz.

Reason: if you install ram of different speed in a system, all ram runs at the slowest speed of the lot. in your case its 133Mhz (133Mhz*2 = 266Mhz).

all the RAM will run @ the least but best speed. As it is not possible for a RAM to overclock itself to the fastest speed. So it will downclock the RAM speeds to the least and all the ram sticks will run at the same speed.

How many RAM Slots do u have on your mobo?
