Question DVD writer - SATA or IDE?

Hii....I want to purchase a DVD writer for my 4 year old pc. It supports SATA but with raid driver, so thats irritating every time. So I have a question that if I purchase IDE, will it support current motherboards in case I upgrade the whole system?

u should go for IDE. no matter in the writing speed. But if u go for SATA, while installing WinXP ur drive will not be detected and for that u need to integrate SATA/RAID drivers.
