??

Almost all shops are Same n will give you approximately same rates with same service
for best results u should go n take rates from 2-3 different shops

anyways here's my Known Dealer which gives best service 2 me

Challenger Technologies
Contact Person - Sanjay Bhai
Off No. 2, Gr. Floor, Kamat Bldg,
Tara Temple Lane, Lamington Road, Mumbai - 7
Tel : 2380 0181 / 6452 6115 / 93231 55285

The General rule in Lamington is
When You Purchase a Product Dealer will give you 3 days Warranty you should test & revert back product if their anyfault within 3 days

the 4th day you need to contact the Manufacturer (eg. Intel, Samsung) which is lenghty process

Well I bought my pc from Lappie World for Rs 30,000 and found out later that it was worth Rs 20,000 from other shops 3 days later.Well they are complete thieves they did not have correct knowledge of the processor specs as to how many cores and what cache was there. The only reason I made such a mistake was because I was in a hurry as it was around 9pm and I needed a pc urgently.I would strongly suggest not to go to their shop as per the business they have done with me.

sorry to say but its ur mistake
evey time every digitian & agent 007 says to search 4-5 shops before u buy even a keyboard/mouse
not only lappie world but almost all lamington dealer are thieves they always search for "Bakra" now its upto us to treat them in the way they deserve

but in 1 point of view its not ur mistake coz whnever v go to buy a PC v loose patience and get eager to buy PC.... (just what sehwag do in making 100)

so try to keep little patience
n next time search 3-4 shops.....

Yes My mistake was that I was in a hurry as I had left office late and my old pc was completely off.I needed a pc that day.
Just wanted to mention this so in Future if somebody needs a pc in a hurry they are careful and have patience otherwise they will be looted like I was from Lappie World

I've heard/read about alot of bad experiences with cassette world.

Anyway TC, before I went to lamington to buy my parts I searched for a similar topic/thread and found these:
Where to buy hardware at Lamington Road Mumbai?

Reliable Shops @ Lamington Road, Mumbai

I have a tip..... Before going to lamington find out the rough prices of all the parts you want, from the forums here or on the other indian forums. Get quotations(final prices only) from atleast 4-5 shops and then goto the shop of your choice and bargain. I did this successfully on two different occasions.

Also, make sure the bill you get is an invoice with vat breakup and serial numbers for each part.

I've had a good experience dealing with Prime and IT HUB in the past.

MAC IT solutions gives best rate for most products and while primeabgb give low rate only for specific product...

Anyways both are good... i recently bough a corsair HX850W PSU from primeabgb @ 9.2K/- incl shipping where as the min price for it is ~9.8k to 10.3k on others shops and online...

You should have checked them before you went to Lappie World.
They are a new shop and have hired two people Chetan and Pravin who have done time in prison for jewellery theft in 2005(found out from one of their neighbour shops who has one of my relatives working there).
The shops in Lamington road want employees who can sell they do no background check many other shops also have people with less scruples.
You must be patient
You should ask around before you buy someting like a pc
They just want someone who can be a bakra.

Whatever happens.. Dont buy anything from Cassette World. There are lots of other dealers who will give you more competitive prices that CW. CW used to be good, but now their prices are not that competitive and quality of the product is pathetic. Its almost like they sell Duplicate Stock. My cousin had the nightmares when he assembled his PC there. He bought 2x2 GB Corsair RAMs. One of them broke down in a day and Cassette World made him wait over a month for replacement. I personally have had very bad experiences with CW too.

I got my components from a shop named "Dynamic", and the cost was much less than what was offered in primeabgb, almost 200Rs.

And also when u roam in multiple shops, just in case if u don't know most of the dealers are connected to each other through intercom and if they don't hv any particular part u want, they call up their fellow dealers and butter up a little on the cost and sell it to you.

Though this would have been discussed earlier, a few suggestions on shopping at lamington road based on my experiences so far..

Avoid shops that are over crowded..chances are you shall not be attended properly

Based on what you are shopping for, decide the shop e.g. if you are purchasing for small items, avoid big shops and go to smaller ones, there you may get good item at reasonable price and shall be attended properly e.g. DVD-R pack of 10. Look for smaller shops across lanes that may have such items in bulk or are distributers.

If the shopkeeper says, “We have this item, but we won’t open the box and show you in detail, it’s imported and comes as is” avoid quick buying there.

If the receipt will not have the Product Serial number written – Do not buy from that shop.

Check for the same item in 3 – 4 shops before deciding where to buy from

Better do some homework / netsurfing before you decide what you wish to buy more specifically if you are novice in computers / hardware

As much as possible speak with the shopkeepers/ key people in that shop than the other attendants around.

This place’s great when it comes to availability and options, the only sad part is that the shops are mainly interested to SELL More and SUPPORT Less!!!

Moreover what I like about this place is that the knowledge and understanding of computers as displayed by a hawker level shopkeeper or the one who has his stall almost on the street kind, is simply far better than the big shops!

No they are con artist they talk smoothly and give u bad system...
never buy anything from MAC IT Solution they will talk very sweetly and give you a components at higher price and that too old configuration system...recently i bought a processor and mobo they priced 5000 more from market price and when i got know about it i tried to call they never answered it.
Please please never buy anything from this store and convey this message to others ...

Though I no longer buy retail, the shops I can tell you to avoid are MAC IT solutions and McCann Infosys. Not because of prices, but because they try to stonewall you into buying a product they want to move out of their inventory.

AnythinginIT is like PrimeABGB, low rates on some stuff and high on others. You can get Asus motherboards from them, the rates are competitive. Others, not so much, for example. But service is very good.

When I go with friends, we generally go to all the shops in Simlim square - all are very good IMO, both in terms of price and service, including prime.

Ain't it kinda suspicious people making an account on tdf just to post on this thread?(check out the post count!)
If I weren't any less paranoid, I'd say shopkeepers trolling in to promote sale and sabotage reputation of others....

But heck..what do I know...
.
I'd suggest checking in major shops (with their own websites) to see prices and later the small shops to compare..
Also, i think after sale service factor is better than saving mere 200-300.
Happy Shopping.
