Software RAID 1 Boot Drive

I am going to buy a new Motherboard and have 2 options:-

1.ICH10 for rs. 5800
2.ICH10R(Embeddded raid controller) rs. 8000

I want to configure raid 1 on my boot drive, I am running Windows 7 and Dont want to fresh Install, I want to Mirror my existing Harddisk so that in case my boot drive fails I dont loose my files and settings

So, Is it Possible to configure Windows 7 Software Raid on Existing Boot drive(By converting boot Drive to Dynamic)

Intel Matrix Storage Manager is supported on ICH10. Should I go for Embedded Raid Controller??
