check this config:

Processor: Athlon II X3 425 2.7GHz @ 3.2k
Motherboard: Biostar TA785G3 HD @ 4k
Ram: A-Data or Kingston 2Gb DDR3 Value @ 2.3k
Graphics Card: -
PSU: -
Cabinet: Zebronics Bijli with bundled PSU @ 1.5k
Hard Drive: Wester Digital 500Gb Green @ 1.8k
Monitor: Benq G2020HD or Dell S2009W 20" @ ~6.5k
Keyboard-Mouse: Logitech Internet Desktop Pro @ 0.6k
Speaker: cheap speakers @ 0.3k

Total: 20.2k.

though i'll suggest increase your budget to 25k to get a better config. UPS can't be included.

jas, not seen your config. yours look good but the 17" won't be a good choice for watching HD videos. too small.

yup. X2 got an advantage over the X3 & X4s. same in Athlon II as well as Phenom II.

in Athlon II, got same amount of L2 cache. i.e. 2Mb.
in Phenom II, got same amount of L3 cache i.e. 6Mb.

I think MSI 785GM-E51 @3.7k would be better than Bio* TA785G3. It got HDMI too. Get a benQ 20" at 5.8k, thought the missing DVI & HDMI will be a loss, but budget PCs are like that only. Don't go for DDR2 as it will limit your upgrades in future. Even with the lower L2 cache, I think X3 would be a better choice.

It's listed on Lynx-India for Rs. 3885, got to be 200 bucks lower in the market. Nobody would buy that mobo for 4.5k, it's not worth that much, 3.7-3.9k is enough. Prices fall to reasonable levels within a couple of months if a product is overpriced.

OK, still it should be around 3.9k with taxes in the market. Somehow I find the board better than TA785G3, unless G3 HD is available around the same price.

E51 is same as G3. no better. they both settle on equal terms. exchange equal bows.
