Default Dual-Monitor Problem!

Hi friends,

I'm helping my friend in his dual-monitor setup. He has the following config:

PhenomX2 550BE
ASUS M2N68-AM-SE2
4G DDR2 RAM
HD4350 1G GFX

Display's : SAMSUNG SyncMaster P2250 22", Old Microtek 17" CRT

The SAMSUNG LCD is connected via Digital Connector (DVI) to HD4350 @ 1080p & The CRT is connected via Analog (VGA) to the same HD4350. We want to use LCD as primary and CRT as secondary display...Now whenever we start the PC the CRT monitor shows the clone of the boot till the windows XP is booted after that the CRT goes black and on standby mode and only the LCD work.

We want extended display, what to do?

Thanks

The CRT monitor is also trying to display @ 1080p resolution which it obviously doesn't support. Hence, the black screen.

Install the latest ATi Catalyst driver: ATI Catalyst? Technology and configure the resolutions through it.

The previous version of Catalyst is not detecting the second monitor even though its configured @ 640x480 res. Even windows XP is not identifying the second monitor. Anyways I'll try with the new version on Driver
