DVD Writer not detecting CDs

Hi guys.
I have a Dell XPS M1530 which has a slot load drive....
Just recently I realized that it is not detecting CDs.
I am able to write DVDs, read DVDs and even write CDs but the CDs can't be read! The written CDs are detected on other comps but not mine

I have updated the BIOS to the latest version but that didn't help.

Config:
Windows 7 Ultimate, 3GB RAM, Intel Core2 Duo T8100 2.1 GHz

Hi Varad
I cannot find the firmware for the drive
TEAC DVD+-RW DVW28SLC
I have googled for quite sometime but to no avail.....

did u keep CD reverse or wat?

try cleaning the CD'S radially out ward direction with cloth n put in drive

not working then go for service

^^sry was kidiing...i understand ur frustration...why dont u get it repaired...thers no point in posting such hardware problem in forums

Appreciate that gopi_vbboy... Apparently it is a known issue in this model.... I've found some threads over Google... But then can't even find the driver anywhere.... Something to do with non finalized disks not being able to be read by the drive. But am not able to solve that...
