How to install wireless router?

Hey techies,

I have recently bought a wireless router. Can anybody here guide me on how to install router for my laptop. Also, how do we set a password for it so that others don't hack into my wifi network.

anyway..
installation will be easy.. follow u r router manual that came with the router box.

usually they will provide a installation CD use that..

and set WPA2 encryption in router settings..

Its a Netgear router.
I didnt get ne cd with it.
I bought it from my friend.

ne idea where i can get the cd contents on the net?

u could have just done some googling... atleast give a try..

basically u need to connect u r modem out to the internet port of the router. and connect u r pc to another port on the router with the same type cable(ethernet RJ45).

then open u r browser and type http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1
with username and password as admin. rest follow the installation guide..
