Question Which hard disk ??


I want to purchased an 500 GB SATA II hard disk.Which brand i will go for Seagate or Western Digital?I heard that seagate has firmware issues one of my friend HDD has recentlly crashed. Please specify the model no. also.

Seagate 500GB Sata Hard Drive (ST3500418AS) available for around 2.2k
It is a better bet than WD as this is a 7200RPM drive whereas the WD ones at this price range gets you only a 5400RPM one...

what will be the use of the HDD?, Data storage / Backup ?

I'll always suggest WD. Currently you have Seagate, how's its performance?

their is no issues with any hdd
but i personally like WD
