I have bought HP Deskjet F2418 AIO @Rs.3800/- few days ago.
For occasional printing & copying uses u can consider it.
But not good for bulk printing.
Cartridges are expensive and not good for refilling.
Scanner is good.....

Thanks. Actually I needed a scanner most with occassional printing. How's the cost of cartridges?

Another question, what about Canon models? Are they better than HP?
Skud-I am zeroing in on Canon MP258 which comes at around 4K (here in Bangalore)...check that out at your nearest outlet...
I would request other members' feedback on this printer/device
Actually I am also looking for an MFD with same requirements as yours...plus I should also be able to print photographs shot from my digital camera...do suggest...

Actually today I have bought the MP258 @ 3.4K. Scanning seems good; although the max resolution is 600 dpi, I think that's pretty reasonable. It comes bundled with a pack of three 4"x6" photo paper, so I can tell you about the printing results tomorrow.
Print quality is excellent IMO. Scanner is good as I have already told. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the purchase. Let me know what you have done.
hey Skud...yesterday I finally purchased a MFD for home purpose. Although I went out with Canon MP 258 in mind, but it was not available at two outlets so went to Chroma. The salesman there persuaded me to buy HP F4488 instead...
It looks good. I haven't taken any photo prints yet...will post about it later...
Normal printing is at par with commonly found deskjets...It scans at upto 1200 dpi resolution.
