SONY ---> rashi peripherals. just a thought looking at how easily they goes bad. & how good rashi peripherals reputation in handling RMAs.
rashi peripherals??where's it??
anyways almost all popular companies make good products
they dont go kaput unless they are of the old stock or the exceptions

they are the distributor of sony. got my sony DVD writer replaced there. only to go bad after 12-14 days warranty over, game over. i took my DVD writer for repair when just 2 days left in warranty.

i won't blame SONY. its my PSU problem. damaged 1stly my Combo Drive, LG. brought SONY, went bad again. brought friends DVD writer. got damaged while copying a scratched dis. my PSU is the idiot. a frontech 450W. now replaced with a iBall 400W.
I would suggest going for LG. I've seen 3 LG DVD writers (1 my own, 2 with friends) working fine for last 2-3 years.
I've written around 300-400 full DVDs (single layer, duall layer, rewritables, all) over the last 2.5 years and it's working fine. The eject button's not working though, I have to use a command line utility with batch file or rocket dock docklet for that.
