Laptop under 31K! Is AMD any Gud?

I previously owned an HCL P2840 LEAPTOP having a 2.0 PDC Processor, n 2Gb ram with UNICROME Graphics(It wasn't pleased me at all specially even in least gamings).

Now i hv sold it thinking that now i cud get a C2D Under d same price tag.
So i hv 31k, to buy a new laptop. I m thinking of Dell Vostro C2D series! Is this gud or i shuld buy an i3 laptop.


My frnd told me 2 luk 4 an AMD Laptop(as bcoz of their onboard grfx which I AM LUKING FOR TO...). Are they gud?

Sorry but only DELL COMPAQ or Lenovo laptops please..

look out for new laptops with Athlon II X2. Phenom II X2 & X4 BE. also Turion X2 (this will be a better seller). they will come with AMD 880GM. enough to handle a few modern games.

Brand to look for: Acer (you already said NO. Lenovo, a bit costly. DELL, don't make AMD lappies. and finally HP i.e. Compaq even if make will be costly)

no problem buddy. actually my knowledge on lappy too low. so not posted anything which later may turn out ot be false. ok heres a link that may help u a bit deciding what u'll need actually.

1. Phenom series is best but also cost similar. & will surely eat into battery life like a hungry dog.

2. yes. surely. if u can get an i3 @ 34k, u should be able get Turion II X2 or Athlon II X2 + 9cell battery for same price. also at 34k, u won't be getting any graphics card. if u get, u'll end up sacrificing i3 for a bad dual core or so. & as far as i seen, i3 are coupled with the GMA X4500 (a super sucker in games). with AMD, u'll at least be able try some games.

3. i'll just conclude by saying this. i3---> battery life + good performance.
Athlon II or Turion II---> 2 X better gaming. cheaper. 10% slower than most i3/i5.

now its your decision. get which suites u best. market full with i3s. Athlon II & the new Turion II will take little time to reach. but u should get fantastic deals with AMD.

well Turion II M200 or something already in market. however i heard the new ones will give better battery life. moreover, the graphics almost same. if u can run a game on 780GM. u will be able do same on the 880GM. and yes, i think the heat level too have been knocked down a bit. so cooler + thinner lappies.

if you are not gaming and not doing any cpu tasking job, amd babies run normal or cooler than c2ds , look for M500 - its 2.2 gz if not feasible go for M300 2.0gz, my hp dv6 2005ax has shot up above 85c both cpu and gpu while gaming- otherwise a cool baby and well capable most tasks.........

if gaming in list, & that also at 30k or so. OP will get i3 + g45 graphics. and G45 is ultimate sucker when it comes to games (or even Blue Ray). AMD IGP can handle most games by sacrificing on battery life.

So many rplies!:O just 2 days.

Actualy today i've bought a Dell vostro 1088. The specs are as flws:
2.1ghz core2duo
320 sata hdd
4GB DDR2 RAM
n Finally 512mb ATI MOBILITY RADEON 4300

Very satisfied.
But as it always happens to me, there's a problem, hope u can certainly cure- whenever i m inserting any usb device into the usb port of laptop, the touchpad starts responcing abnormaly sluggish, n doesn't wishing 2 work fluently. This is happening only when ANY USB is inserted, be it a pen drive or mobile.
Plz help again.
I dont want 2 send my brand new lappie to repair.

But plz tel me what 2 do.

this sounds to a driver problem
Reinstall the Touchpad driver and see

I'm using windows7 home premium.

Reinstalled driver, but no improvement. The touchpad works all gud every other time, but when an usb is inserted it laggs. And when i just plug out the usb device, it suddenly starts working fine!

This problem is also appearing in BIOS in the same manner.!!
