need help

hi, i just installed my friend's new intel system.

when i boot it shows media test failure, check cable.PXE-E61.

why is it.

and also my old dvd writer has only ide port and the mobo has only sata ports.

how could i connect my old dvd burner to mobo.

and also i booted the system without connecting the dvd to mobo.
is that the cause for the error.

Yup.....seems that the error is for "No Bootable Device Found". Though I'm not sure. Wait for others to confirm.

ok then
start ur pc with a bootable cd/dvd in ur drive
if ur HDD is not able to detect it ,then it means ur HDD cable is loose
