want to turn off laptop screen power

hi
i want to turn off the laptop screen power while downloading..i have tried hibernate, standby, the third method (uploaded the file)directly closing the laptop...can anyone suggest me a good trick...

i'm uploading the files.if there is any risk in doing like that plz tell me..

i'm using turn off lcd software( is that a good option)..??

Hibernating is Similar to Shutdown but your Laptop/PC will remain in Same condition like open programs will remain open,
but yes your Net will get disconnect and all upload & downlaod will also dc
In Standby mode also Net get Disconnected so of no use
3rd Method directly closing Laptop Screen will turn ur Laptop into Standby mode

just simply leave your Laptop / PC and untouched for few min
its screen will turn off automatically as per your settings in "Power Scheme"

if u need to do the setting
right click on desktop
select properties
select Screen Saver
and select power option and select
Turn off monitor (what ever time u need) eg : 3 min
Turn of Harddisk : Select Never, or 3, 4 or 5 hours whatever u need
Standby : Never or 3, 4 or 5 hours whatever u need
