Ur disk has gone kaput.
Is it under warranty? Your friend might be telling of something like complaint number. Don't u have any tel no. of the service centre(try 2 ask from any comp vendor). They wil replace it, but i think they dont recover data. U have 2 luk 4 some data recovery sol. near ur area. Have u asked the dealer the same.

Is it physically crashed and not showing even on bios?
If not u can give REMO Recovery pro a try using any other pc.

Well... you can try to boot into Ubuntu as a Live CD. Then check if your hard drives show up... if they do, you may have some chance of recovering the data..
