A Doubt in screen resolution....Pls help.

a I've seen many monitors supporting 1080 pixels (1920 by 1080) in various sizes ... i.e., in 18.5' , 21.5' and 24 inches but not in 20 or 19 inches.. why is this so ??

I mean ... in a smaller area of screen imposing a higher resolution, will give high clarity ?

You will just have smaller fonts. I have seen 1920 x 1080 on a laptop screen. Was really crappy.
