Need help in making a choice over peripherals

Hi,
I'm planning to add/upgrade some of my peripherals of my pc. Please give a few suggestions.
1. Monitor: Suggest some good 20" lcds within rs7500. I'll be sitting 2.5-3m from the screen while watching movies; i don't have any hd content, just dvd quality - so i guess 22" is not a good option. I'll also be doing graphic design, programming and net surfing.

Check the price of the Benq G2200HD.M not sure whether it is 9k or 7.5k.
Its 22 inch btw.

2. HDD: 50GB fits my req. Budget rs2500. My choice WD cavier blue and Seagate Barracuda 7200.12. Which is better?

3. Surround Speakers: Budget rs3500. I have selected creative inspire m5300 and t6100. Here i have a problem. According to my room measurements, the attached cables are short, so i have to extend them. Now i understand that t6100 has a different connector (not the standard rca) for the front right satellite. Is it possible to extend it? Else I'll go for the m5300. Also, does t6100 has a radically better sound quality than m5300? Any other suggestions?

Oh sorry, yes i mean 500gb.
(i was typing from my cell phone, so instead of a 0 a space went there by mistake)

any suggestion about the speakers?
