Urgent help pl. Pc doesnt start.

I had used my wife's pc last night n today it wont start. Its powering ie light is blinking but nothing happens. Plus it wont even eject dvd drive though light blinks there too. So help me before my wife strangles me lol

Its quite serious prob 4 me pl help if anyone has faced similar prob n suggest solution too. Thanks

^^ if monitor light is what u talking about first blinking, the pc's ram is loose. reattach them, problem solved. chances are loose ram main kulprit.

No not monitor , its the cpu it blinks like its starting n i dont even push the start button n it starts blinking near the push button n some funny noise is heard like old car engine

Any suggestion , monitor goes blank n only orange light plus dvd drive blinks continuously . I forced it open n put xp cd but nothing happens

I had this problem once with my old P4 configuration.
However it wasn't too troublesome as the problem was solved once i turned off the smps and then turned it on again.And oh yes,check for loose connections.
My RAM was loose.

Also check the cable connnections of the smps for loose connections

i think he referring to the connection of the SMPS cable to the mobo. it sometimes gets loose. also check the 4-6pin connector near the processor fan. if its loose.
