m willing to purchase a one within a range of 2000-2500

kindle 2 is good , i think current price is around 16.5k i guess

You won't get any good e-book reader's in that price range...

Amazon sells it for 259$ = 11,676 INR add at least 1.5K to 2K as taxes..You are good to go with it...

u can' get any good ebook reader i this range...multiply it by 4...and buy a amazon kindle 2....or one released by sony

i read books on an ancient monochrome Palm palmtop (m500 ). it cost me 35$. this won't be available in india, nor is it a gud reader as compared to kindle or sony's reader. BUT i have and continue to do so, read many many books on it. search for it , see if it appeals to you.

also kindle is for 14k as 2k is refunded afterwards

Kindle is awesome.

Btw, whichever you buy, DO NOT forget to join www.mobileread.com and download Calibre Ebook Management software. there is just no comparison. As you can tell I am a fan boy
