Build a PC for 50K

Dear friends, my friend is buying a new system and the price range is around 50K, so I want some suggestion and advices.

this is how i come up with

looking at the little details u give, i feel its a gaming PC with future upgradebility. sadly the components you choose are both old & not good at all.

Total: 57k. check & tell. oh yes, don't worry. there won't be any bottlenecking issue nor any heat problem cause of AMD proccy.

It's for not gaming. For multimedia works like image editing, animation with flash and for video editing.

you might be saying Oh God! again an AMD configuration. what with the Intel?

Believe me even 50k is not a good budget to get a latest Intel based system. Most of the forum members will agree with me, you can ask for a vote. The processors you have mentioned like C2Q 8300 are obsoleted now and Phenom II 955 is a far better performer than it.
The combination of Phenom II 955, 1600 MHz DDR3 and HD 5850 will be a deadly one, not only for gaming. Basically you can throw anything on it.

@ 50k budget you can max get a Core i7 750 based PC, but again for just CPU and mobo you have to spend at least 17k, and you won't be having a high end Gfx card

And there is very marginal difference between Core i7 and Phenom II 955 in most of the day to day application.

Or if you do need HDD follow what Sam said. Just go for 1x1TB or 2x500GB HDD.

oops. should have been careful checking what he needs. so config - HDD cost = below 50k. i gave 2 HDD cause he'll be doing lots of video editing. so he'll be running out of space as soon as he starts.

oh yes, 24" monitor will be great to work on. & good part is it comes within his budget.

still I want to reduce price, please suggest some alternative for mobo and RAM with little less price to the current one. I've chose corsair 450VX instead of Gigabyte 550W I prefer corsair coz I'm using it for a year now and im happy with it's performance.

^^you can only reduce price if you go with amd
it is not recommended that you get core i5 and the cheapest possible mobo
however with phenom 2 x4 955 BE you can go with MSI 785G-E53 @ 5.5k or even ECS A785GM-M @ 4.6k or Biostar TA785G3 HD @ 4.3k
i recommended that you stick with 4 gb ram

Again, a good i7 mobo will not be available within 50k. You have to go for i5 Quad core.
And the difference between P55 and H55 chipset: P55 chip-set is designed for Core i5 processors (codenamed Lynnfield). Example is Core i5 750.
Now the new generation Core i5 and Core i3 processors are having a On-die Graphics Proceesing Unit. They are code named as Clarkdale.For these processors H55 chipset has been designed. If these processors are pluged only into a H55 chipset based motherboard, then only the On-die Graphics will work. Clarkdale processors can also be plugged into a P55 chip-set based board, but in this case the on-Die Graphics core won't work

myself using amd.... its better than Q9*** series(in my opinion....)....

get amd phenom 2*4 955 + a vfm mobo like MSI 785G-E53 @ 5.5k.... phenom 955 is a quad core and will surely help you in all your video editing stuff.... buy a good cpu cooler like coolermaster n520 @ 2.5k if you want....

Unless you have a 65k+ budget or going for Core i7, it is better to settle with AMD. With Athlon2/Phenom 2 series, AMD has come up a long way since it's early Athlon 64 - bit processors.

I am an Intel fan myself and both my previous desktop and my laptop are Intel based. But after seeing good review on AMD, I gave it a try... any my new desktop (see my sig for config) is running @ awesome speeds. Absolutely no trouble at all. AMD Rocks!

See the config posted by comp@ddict a few posts above.

Make a few changes -
PSU - Corsair VX550 ~ 5.5 K (Instead of VX450) to make it more future compatible.
GPU - for a 22 inch (1920 X 1080 px) a XFX/Sapphire Raedeon 5770 will be enough unless u are a core gamer.
RAM - Change the brand to corsair for 200 bucks extra.

only point AMD loose to Intel is OverClocking. rest everything is good. & one shouldn't have any complain about it.

5. Which OS are you planning to use? W7
6. How much hard drive space is needed? 320 GB or more
7. What resolution will the screen run at? 1280x1024 or more.
8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest) 7

for AMD i just told Biostar better than that MSI. MSI support 125W proccy. Bio = 140W.

m goin with config posted above by cilus but with two changes
m gonna buy xfx ati raedon 5770 GPU and Phenom II 965 3.4 GHz all other equipments are same as mentioned.................
