Suggestions needed to buy a new DVD-Writer

My request to suggest me a Good branded SATA DVD-Writer with Model Number.

Samsung SATA DVD RW's (22 x) are good. Don't know the model no. though.

Also, you can't go wrong with a Sony Optiarc, a tad costlier but Sony doesn't fail too soon and their RMA is excellent.

I would recomment LG GH22...its a great dvd writer with good speeds & its SATA..been using for few weeks now & its pretty good..chk some reviews if needed..most of them are favourable...

I had bought a samsung with my current PC and the tray malfunctioned in like 2 weeks. It used to open and close immediately when I pressed eject. I got it replaced and had the same problem in another 2 weeks. Now I'm using a LG GH22. 3 months, no problems yet.

same here...though mine malfunctioned after 6 months...but my samsung sh-223b can read most scratched disks while my friend's sony & lg drives cannot...

looks like you got lucky. My friend had a problem with a Samsung NOT reading discs!!
