Default External HardDrive


Hey people,

I am looking to buy external harddrive within 2 weeks. And needless to say , i need suggestion regarding the same.

Please suggest hard drive from 500 GB to 2 TB.

and price range from Rs.3000-8000 .

If data safety is ur main motto, go for 1TB mirrored drives.
Costly but money should not come b/w u and ur data

If u want, other cheap solutions would be, 1TB drives from WD or Seagate.
U can get good deals in eBay.in (if u don't trust eBay, try to venture in ur local shops). Price would vary from 4500/- to 5000/- for these drives.
Always checkout for warranty 3yrs and 5yrs warranty drives would cost u diff.

Always remember ur hdd can crash anyday :evil laugh:

Guys i am also in a similar kind of situation i need good data transfer rate from the external hdd probably 500gb budget 5k-6k

there are jst to many options to decide from so i am realy confused!!!!!

I am not quite sure about WD i did not get any good reviews from any of my friends

i want to go for FreeAgent XTreme™ 1TB but not sure of its market price
any one knows that pls rply asap

my budjet is between 6k-7k
1TB but with a good speed and if so multiple connectivity option

I am also looking for a Portable hdd, but ashish the limited connectivity options (most of the portables hv jus USB) makes me a bit disappointed...

can u tell me wat kind of HIGH data transfer u wish to do..??

The free agent Xtreme is a desk hard drive offerin usb2.0,firewire,esata connectivity options

i am lookin for it in little cheaper enviornment
but its surely not portable weigh's 1.3 kgs!!!!


so any one has a any good opinion
