hi friends, my current config.

P4 2.66
BIOSTAR M800
768(512+256)DDR1 RAM
ATI X1600 AGP 256 DDR2
80 GB HDD IDE
SONY DVDRW IDE
SAMSUNG DVD COMBO IDE
600WATT (CHEAP BRAND)PSU
17' SAMSUNG CRT798PLUS

i've decided to upgrade.mainly using for gaming,surfing,movies.
now shop owner gave me offer

athlon x2 240
2GB DDR2 800FSB
ASUS M2A74-AM
ATI 4670 512MB
total cost 12,600INR

my previous hardware (mobo,proccy,ram,gfx)
costs 4200INR.

so i have to pay 8400INR. is this good deal? plz reply fast.
plz dont suggest to go higher than this. i m already out of budget.

IMO, its a pretty good deal...
Can't u increase ur RAM a bit more?
Another 2 GB would hardly cost u Rs 1000/1200/-

change the board to AM3 that support DDR3. get 2Gb DDR3. with rest of the money get HD4650 or even 9500Gt wil give better FPS than HD4650. hope this not cross your budget but wil make ur system a lot more futureproof :-P.

Ya go for MCP61 chipsets.They have AM3+ddr3 support.But only 2dimm slots for ddr3 still can get max of 8gb ram in future.Its cheap compared to 785G chipsets with 4 dimm slots and HD 4200 IGP.

yup. for cheap products 1 have to sacrifice something. & OP may never need 8Gb. also as he wil get discrete graphics, it really not matters whether the onboard graphics sucks or it just ok.
