Unhappy Pendrive Problem

Hi !,
Yesterday I purchased a Kingston DT102 / 4Gb pendrive. On use, the data transfer speeds I'm getting are:

Read: 21Mbps (average)
Write: 5Mbps (average)

I'm not able to understand why the write speed of the drive is so slow. A friend of mine who had recently purchased a drive of the same make & size, is experiencing the same problem.

Please help me regarding further action.

What is your own read and write speed in characters per minute
Read and write speeds are written on every pen drive packing/manual. and read speed is always higher than write speed.

The readings I posted are the ones I'm getting on doing transfers on my system as well as a laptop of a friend of mine.

I posted this as a problem because the write speeds I'm getting are way too low. I mean it's about 12-15 Mbps avg.

Should I go in for a check at the Kingston service center ?

Instead check on their website for specs First !!

Speed depends on the size of the files you transfer - if you transfer small files of 1mb it will be too slow - whereas if you transfer 200mb it will be faster.

@Sarvesh
+1, Totally agreed;
@Vivek.28
Check your transfer rate wth a file of larger size! And Post your results Pal!
