below 5k good options are 9600Gt 512Mb, HD4670 512Mb. but try & get the HD5670 if possible. as its futureproof as well as VFM. & as for GT220, its not at all worth its price.

There is a misconception that more Graphics memory will provide better performance. It is only true if you are having same GPU based cards. The most important thing is the stream processor count in your GPU. Now 9600 GT is having 64 comapred to the 32 of GT 220. So 9600 GT is a far better performer.

But I think you should go for the HD 5670 based cards. It is more future proof due to its DX11 support.

If budget is close to 5.6 k then go for 5670 and if less then simply go for 9600GT. Just wipe out that GT220 from your list.

also many have the typical mindset that a new card wil perform better. say for eg a GT220 should perform better that a 9600GT which is quite a bit old. & add to it the Über mis-concept that a card with more memory wil perform better. same example. 1Gb Vs 512Mb. so plz don't go just by name.

, the HD10 cards are not yet done. they still offer pretty good value. so don't run after a costly DX11 card if a DX10 card offer more performance for a lower price.
