Default Confused between WD and seagate :(

I wanna buy a 1TB Hdd. as i m running out of my existing storage. Not really needed for backup.

Which one is better of the two ?

Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EARS 1TB 5400 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s ----------- Rs.4,450.00/-

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s -----------Rs.4,375.00/-

Prices are similar.
While WD has more Cache memory, Seagate has more RPM.
Which one is better of the two ? in terms of - After sales service/warranty/performance/durability

Thanks

both are good, seagate has 5 years warranty , no idea of WD, however for external stay away from 1tb sgt ones.

Seagate internal drives offer 3 yr warranty while WD Provides 5 year ON SITE warranty.

Choice is urs.

i think its better to go for the 7200RPM one, 32mb of buffer is sufficient these days i have Seagate 250Gb with 16mb buffer, more than 2yrs old but works fine and is decently fast enough.

Going for 7200.12 series.
Since it uses 500Gb size platters compared to other who uses 333Gb platters, it turned out to quite fats according to reviews. WD is good if u want to use it for purely backup purpose and to save some energy

Thanks anyways
