Buying a new PC... need suggestions!
Hello,
I am buying a new Desktop soon, and I have had quotations made from various dealers, and I need suggestions for some parts...
Here's the config am buying:
core i7 920 + Intel m/b wx58bp (would MSI mobo be better?)
4GB DDR3 RAM
1 TB SATA (seagate or WD? please suggest?)
22" TFT samsung monitor
ATI HD 5750/5770 (!? suggest which would be better?)
Creative 2.1 speakers (or should I go for altec lansing?)
DVD writer
please suggest the best cabinet for this configuration... should I go for coolermaster? what additional things should I buy? Anything else you want to suggest?
Thanks
Best Regards
Rahul

4 cabinet look @ Cm690 4.5k and the side transparent @ 4.9k...' or antec 900 @ 8k but a cm 690 with 7 fans will do the job 4 u..' don't forget 2 add a good heatsink in it...'
Secondly psu and smps r same and u will need a powerful one 4 ur rig like vx550 or even tx 650...'

Re: Buying a new PC... need suggestions!
^^
A 550W PSU would be good. Stick to the one I have recommended. Well if you are not going to get it online, then you might have a waiting period for the parts. Go to Nehru Place, when you enter from the PARAS side. You enter the main complex. On the right side..upper side...Meghdoot Building. SMC International, is a good shop. Gurmeet could help you out.

Gurmeet will. He does source. Why do you not order from Lynx. I got my whole system from there.
Though get a 58xx series accelerator.

Re: Buying a new PC... need suggestions!
vl ordering from lynx means rs 3000 additional for delivery. I contacted SMC international, they're charging a bit high compared to delhi trade zone nd lynx. why do you prefer 58xx ??

Re: Buying a new PC... need suggestions!
Talk to Lynx. Amarbir. He will get it done for cheap. I ordered mine, and it was couriered for like Rs 500. (Had a CM690 in the bundle). I am saying 58xx cause they are the fastest cards. The system you are getting, would be better balanced with a 58xx series.
Also just noticed, you are getting 4GB DDR3. That would be 2 x 2GB sticks, right..? This way you will not optimize the tri-channel architecture of the X58. Get three sticks, in multiples of 3,6,9,12..etc. This would be good: Corsair TR3X6G - 1333C9 6GB Kit @ 8405. 4GB is odd for the X58.

I agree abt the 3 channel RAM concept..
@ Rahul: u better get 3x1GB or 6x1GB or in multiples of 3,6,9,12 etc, to hv a tri channel setup of RAM modules for ur motherboard..

Re: Buying a new PC... need suggestions!
I went to SMC International... but he didnt have the MSI board, he said he'd call me once its available, anyway I have few more queries...
firstly... Is this cabinet + smps setup would be alrite for my config?
http://lynx-india.com/index.php?productID=7597
next, If I buy 3 "1333/1066 Mhz 2G.B Ram sticks" and plug them on the board.. wont they do the same thing as the corsair/gskill tri-channel kit?
and should I go for 22" LED moniter??
---------- Post added at 01:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:33 PM ----------
and what abt the ups? which one should I get? is it mandatory to get the UPS?

Re: Buying a new PC... need suggestions!
1. Which PSU is bundled in that cabinet. Am sure it is a bad one.
2. Do not mix RAMs of different: speed/density/make.
3. If you can afford it, get a 22". The HD5750 might be a bit tight though.
4. Get a 1.1KVA APC. So it can support you at full load too.

Re: Buying a new PC... need suggestions!
1.) for the cabinet, if its a CM cabinet, then i guess the PSU will also be from CM..
2.) for the RAM: its better to go in for Corsair or G Skill RAM, y u wanna change ur mind and go to other brands..??
3.) a 22" LCD will be gr8, a fullHD one (offering a reso of 1920x1080)..Samsung 2233SW will cost u around 9.5K, even the Samsung's Lavender series are gr8..
4.) get a UPS as per ur PSU (if ur PSU is an "Active PFC" type) get a Pure sine wave ups...

Buddy for your system , opt for the 5850 instead. Its better suited for the config. and is pretty powerful and sufficient for full hd gaming.
Go for vtx3d hd 5850 @ 15.8k.

my purpose is not exactly gaming, and I cannot invest that much on Graphics cards yet. I will buy it and crossfire it with hd 5770 when I really do need that High End, Gaming.

Re: Buying a new PC... need suggestions!
damn! SMC international does not have MSI Pro-E board or the GA EX58 board... and i am pretty confused! Total price keeps on increasing...! I've increased my budget too, but still its damn confusing. Okay, someone give me an effective configuration @ Rs 70k... asigh please give me a config under 70k (with speakers, keyboard, and accessories included).
