I don't get you. Have you bought all components and are waiting for motherboard? Or have you not bought anything yet?

The Asus P5Pro has no overheating problems. Its one of the best P45 chipsets from Asus, apart from the RoG series. Your vendor is naive.

Re: suggest a good motherboard
Not sure about Kolkata friend. Sorry. Though ASUS/Gigabyte are reputable brands, the service levels should be good. Check out their websites if you need more information, and see if service stations are available within your city.

Gigabyte has much better After Sales Service. DOn't buy ASUS as from what I have heard, ASUS has BIOS issues in non RoG boards and very poor A.S.S.
For a good vendor in Kolkatta, try www.exoduspc.in
He is a good dealer from what many forum members tell me. Take his contact number from the website.

Please do not read reviews on egg. Most of the guys there are noobs. Read official sites for reviews.

Not sure about the P5Q Pro (non-Republic of Gamers) after sales service. But the BIOS has absolutely no issue. I can say this, cause I was about to get this board initially and read many reviews. No issue with BIOS. Did not get this board since it was not available that time. But later on I did read, that it is difficult to run the RAM at JEDEC#2 at times.

Or a XEN ( chinese brand ) 650w PSU which one of my noob friend buyed for 3.5k from lammy . It had 19A on a single 12V rail !!
---------- Post added at 06:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:36 PM ----------
BTW there is no need to go for that expensive asus board , your current hardware doesnt justify it . Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R should be max and that too if you are into some extreme overclocking .
---------- Post added at 06:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:41 PM ----------
Dont waste so much on a DDR2 based mobo and also are you going to get a crossfire setup in near future ? If not even a sub 5k mobo will be more then enough but its your money to be burned !!
