need dvd writer.suggestions please.

hi guys.

well i need a dvd writer.

i am a bit confused which one to buy.is LG GSA-H55N good enough.
should i opt for sata or ide.

i need a black coloured one does LG GSA-H55N comes in that colour.

I have LG GH22 SATA and its good. It comes in black colour yes. Not sure about SATA vs IDE. Sata has been good for me, have never used IDE.

I have a Samsung SH-223F, been good so far and never had any burn failures either. It's pretty silent too. Opt for a SATA drive any day as it would avoid that IDE cable mess. I was going to dispose of my Lite-On IDE writer for the same reason, but it died on me at the right time, so got this drive.

How come? You just plug in the DVD RW and download burning software like Infra Recorder/Imgburn from the net and burn to your heart's desire. Do viruses embed themselves in hardware too? Link me to that forum and more specifically, that thread please.

LG ones are good.. Samsungs arn't.. Samsung died on me twice within 6 months! I have an LG GH22NS30 now.

I googled more about the bluebird firmware issue and it seems LG has fixed it with a firmware patch. Whatever it may be, I am facing no problems whatsoever.
