Default How to divide bandwidth equally between 2 comps?

Hi,
i have a "pronet pn-54wrt" router,
i am sharing my tataindicom comnnection with my roommate,
if 1 pc is downloading a heavyfile, then the second pc get very little bandwidth.

is there any way in which both pc's can get equal share of bandwidth?

Hello,

I can be wrong, but as far as I know, you cant enforce such rule directly from the given router..

You need to have a Server installed, which shares the connection between 2 static IP. The sharing server would need to have policy to allow only a certain amount of bandwidth consumption..

Hence sorry again, there is no plug n play solution !!!

thanks..

My router does that... splits the bandwidth equally, or unequally using some rules. Check if your router does that too. You can also use Free Download Manager on the downloading PC, and then restrict the bandwidth using the download manager. I know of FDM, but I am sure there are other download managers that allow you to restrict bandwidth.
