Question Getting low frequency on C2Q600


I m using Intel C2Q600 2.4Ghz , it is showing frequency of Q600 in real temp is 1603.66Mhz but it have show appx 2400Mhz its default frequency, can you guys tell me what is the problem??

This is going to be the somewhar same conversation as one had it here: Core 2 Duo - E8400 shows 2000 MHz in CPU-Z
Better off doing the needful which is already mentioned here.
BTW its Q6600 and not Q6600.

If this is what you have. It should be operating at 2.4Ghz out of the box.

Have you done, any OC'ing or playing around with the BIOS.? What numbers does the BIOS show for:

1. FSB.
2. Multiplier.
3. vCore.

Please just do not go and set it to 2.4Ghz straight away. Be careful.

Check your motherboard's bios settings. Look out for EIST and C1E options. It seems like CPU multiplier is reducing to 6 automatically when processor is ~ identical. Try switching off those options, i mentioned. Then check again.

Update your signature with the system specification.

Also is your motherboards BIOS updated to latest.
