Re: Good Case Fan in the range 400-450 bucks?
I have the CM 120MM Green LED Fan (replaced the front fan that came in the bijli cabby ) It's very quiet and has very good airflow, HDD didn't cross 35*C (when I made new partitions after installing windows)
Current temperature WD 500GB : 28*C (reported by Everest)

Re: Good Case Fan in the range 400-450 bucks?
Well I have 5 of the blue ones, and 2 without an LED....................!
4 run off an OEM fan controller, so at nights, there is less light bleed.

Re: Good Case Fan in the range 400-450 bucks?
If u hav an cm 690 then here's my suggestion....'
my friend hav a cm 690 and there r 6 fan options in the case..., and one blue led 120mm is already comes with the case..'
He bought cooler master 120 mm fans in bundle pack 4 fans @ 800 bucks and a 80mm slim fan for cpu cooling..'
This is the best for a cm690 and find out is there any dealer of cm there u can get bundle packs like this or else a single fan will cost u 375 bucks...'
There r led fans also available in bundle 4 led 120mm @ 1100 bucks...'

Yea..I bet you shops have the bundles, but the owner will sell them unbundled at a higher price.
Indian vendors -- typical.

Delta fans, I saw a video on youtube about one of those.
loud but the airflow is enough to make the fan float like a hovercraft.
Definitely good
Lynx India has them ..

You get a lot of models. Honestly spending so much for 50 cfm 120mm fans for 450 bucks is just too much. LED is simply becomes a bore eventually.

Re: Good Case Fan in the range 400-450 bucks?
You get 55cfm coolermaster 120mm non led fans for 250-300 bucks here @ lamington. For ball bearing- 400-500 bucks is quiet a lot. Sleeve bearing in that price is pretty decent considering the ripoff factor .
Going around lamington and you will find shops selling genuine NMB oem and delta fans for 200-300 bucks- without the molex connector but that barely an issue for the resourceful people.

But does the CFM make a difference to fans? AFAIK, more CFM means better air flow. What do u say?

I think it does. CFM = cubic feet per minute. It is a non SI unit to designate the volume of gas/liquid passes a stationary point in on minute.
So higher the CFM for a fan, the more air volume it is clearing.

So a 90 CFM fan is a great buy for 450 bucks and that too with the LED, isn't it?

Re: Good Case Fan in the range 400-450 bucks?
Still cool enough I think. My older IDE disks used to run at 38-44*C with the older case.. although recently one of them crossed 50*C (I assume since one of them ran much hotter than the other) and it died :O
Better to keep em as cool as possible.
(I live in a relatively cold place so room temperatures are like 22-27*C usually)

My temps are in the range of 36-40 for HDD1 which is 160GB Hitachi and about 38-42 for HDD2, which is 500GB Seagate.

CM fans are sort of OK but nowhere near real performance fans like Scythe
