I'm a physics-math student and need to buy a laptop for education purpose basically. I have roughly the minimum desired config: 1. Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz 2. 2GB RAM 3. 160GB HDD 4. DVD +-RW (not blu-ray) 5. Screen 12" or near Budget is around 30-35K. |

Intel atom based laptop is a total nono for students. 10-12" screens are too scrawny and difficult to read. Also sofware and webpages are displayed very poorly. And not to forget the little plasticky keyboard. Its a major pain in the ass.
I recommend going with compaq CQ40-301TU (27k only) followed by Dell Inspiron 15 (just a tad over 30k). These have good configurations and have rock solid make. Also dont forget to get the kensington lock for laptops if you want to prevent laptop theft. But getting a good config desktop pc is a good option you can consider. It will be cheaper and powerful at the same time. |
